The Nishikyushu University / Junior College Study Group on Support for Developmental Disorders was launched in May 2022 and is now in its third year. Its purpose is to enable experts in research and practice in various fields to share their knowledge and information on the current state and challenges in Saga Prefecture beyond their individual fields of expertise. The experts are from fields such as education, social services, and medical care who are involved in support for developmental disorders at Nishikyushu University or elsewhere. The study group also aims to enable these experts to discuss approaches for providing effective support to people with developmental disorders in the future while considering possibilities for interdisciplinary collaborations. This is a report on the group’s regular meetings from its launch up to November 2024, the outcomes of the “ Nishikyushu University /Junior College Study Group on Support for Developmental Disorders Forum in August 2024 (Topic: Support According to the Developmental Stages of People with Developmental Disorders.),” and the direction of support for developmental disorders in the future.
