One of the main purposes of this paper is to investigate the current situation and analyze the reasons for the increase of the homeless population in the state of Hawaii. Furthermore, the author conducted a survey with the purpose of interviewing a homeless family to better understand the current situation. In order to solve the educational issues that homeless children are now facing, the state government itself, its staff, NPOs, and volunteers should help them actively in many ways. In the later part of the paper, the author suggests a few remedies and future challenges to help solve the issues.
