Conference reviews constitutional changes and legal frameworks in Russian republics, suggesting future developments.
The review highlights the work of the interregional scientific and practical conference “30th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Mari El: Modern Paradigms and Historical Concepts”, held by the State Assembly of the Republic of Mari El and Mari State University. The event was conceived and organized as an open discussion platform, allowing representatives of the scientific community and practitioners to discuss not only this topic but also a broader range of relevant issues in the field of constitutional law. During active discussions at the conference, the historical and legal aspects of the constitutionalization of the subjects of Russia were examined, along with their new constitutional and legal architecture as a result of the 2020 amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Also considered were constitutional transformations and legislative regulation of public authority, including the updated paradigm of local self‑government organization, its legal features, and implementation practices, as well as new trends and prospects for the development of public institutions.
