Educational board game teaches physical chemistry concepts in high school students, showing positive engagement and retention outcomes.
Educational board games foster social interaction, personalized growth, and peer engagement, and they help students grasp complex concepts by visualizing and interacting with abstract ideas, improving retention and problem-solving skills. VaporizAction!, an original European-style educational board game, teaches high school core physical chemistry concepts such as heat exchange, sensible and latent heat, and temperature–pressure relationships during phase transitions. Evaluated with 77 high school students from two public secondary schools in Lorena, São Paulo, Brazil, the game showed positive results even for students who did not enjoy chemistry.
