Experimental studies demonstrate improved cooling through a dispersed coolant flow on modified surfaces, indicating significant heat removal capabilities.
The paper presents the results of experimental studies on heat transfer enhancement on a modified surface using laser radiation. A brief description of the experimental setup “One-sided target heating” and the design of the test section where the studies were conducted is provided. Experimental data on the temperature distribution of the target during one-sided beam heating and cooling with a water-air spray on the opposite side were obtained. Processing of the experimental data yielded values for the heated and cooled surfaces, as well as the heat flux density based on the operational parameters of the coolant components. It is shown that the combined use of a modified surface and a dispersed flow allows for heat loads of up to 10 MW/m2‚ to be removed from the target.
