Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most transformative forces of the 21st century, influencing every aspect of human life—from communication and education to healthcare, business and entertainment. This research paper explores the profound impact of AI on human relationships and society, focusing on how intelligent systems are reshaping emotional connections, social interactions and cultural values. The purpose of this study is to understand the dual nature of AI’s influence: its potential to enhance human capabilities and its risk of diminishing authentic interpersonal bonds. The study employs a mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with 150 participants from diverse backgrounds including students, professionals and educators. Data were analyzed using statistical tools and thematic analysis to identify patterns in AI usage and its social implications. The findings reveal that AI has improved communication efficiency, accessibility and global connectivity but it has also led to emotional detachment, reduced empathy and overreliance on digital systems. The research concludes that while AI can strengthen human relationships through convenience and innovation, it must be guided by ethical frameworks and human-centered design to prevent social alienation. The study emphasizes the importance of balancing technological progress with emotional intelligence, ensuring that AI serves humanity’s collective well-being rather than undermining it.
