Supports multiparametric echocardiographic MR assessment in practice; reinforces consensus and extends educational reference for researchers.
This preprint presents a structured overview of the echocardiographic detection and integrated assessment of mitral regurgitation (MR). It summarizes the principal diagnostic parameters used in routine clinical practice, including color Doppler jet analysis, vena contracta measurement, continuous-wave Doppler signal morphology, proximal isovelocity surface area (PISA), and pulmonary vein flow patterns. The document emphasizes a multiparametric approach, highlighting the limitations of isolated measurements and the importance of contextual interpretation in clinical echocardiography. Supporting guideline-based references are incorporated to align the framework with established recommendations. This work is intended as an educational and academic reference for clinicians, medical trainees, and researchers interested in cardiovascular imaging, and is prepared as a preprint for repository-based dissemination and future expansion.
