Reinterprets the infinite divisibility of matter in dialectical materialism, suggesting new connections between philosophy, mathematics, and modern science.
The infinite divisibility of matter is a core ontological proposition of dialectical materialism, whichis corroborated by the classic assertion of ”a one-foot stick can be halved every day and will neverbe exhausted” in Zhuangzi · Tianxia, the mathematical limit thought and modern physics research.Based on the analytical framework of five-dimensional coordination, this paper re-examines this classicproposition and holds that the essence of the infinite divisibility of matter is the continuous manifestationof the intensity field at different levels of existence. As the fundamental efficiency of existence, intensityitself is also infinitely divisible, and all existence abides by the five-dimensional coordination law ofboundary, structure, reserve, direction and intensity. This paper provides a new interpretive path for theinfinite divisibility of matter that integrates classical philosophy, mathematical logic and modern science, and enriches and develops the material view of dialectical materialism.
