Lay Summary Brain tumors can sometimes cause changes in behavior and personality that may lead to aggression or violence, which can affect family members. The authors of this study wanted to understand the needs and experiences of family members who had been exposed to violence from someone with a brain tumor. To do this, they conducted interviews with 25 family members and analyzed their responses to identify common themes about the support they received and where gaps existed. They found that family members reported needing better support from healthcare systems, including private discussions with clinicians, improved coordination of care, and more information and help when patients had changes in behavior or reduced decision-making ability.
