This paper introduces the Agent Supply Demand Index (ASDI), a supply-side indicator derived from the density, quality, and geographic breadth of professional travel intermediaries serving destinations globally. Using observational data from 68,597 B2B travel agents across 195 countries, the study proposes ASDI as a complementary lens for analysing tourism market structure. Preliminary evidence suggests that ASDI may capture agent-intermediated demand intensity rather than tourist volume alone, distinguishing agent-dependent and direct-booking destination types.
