Retrospective cohort study of collected data using TriNetX Data Network Key Findings: Atherectomy with angioplasty was associated with reduced risk of minor amputations compared to angioplasty alone at 3 months to 5 years.(OR 0.74; 95% CI, 0.57-0.96).Major amputations were lower in the atherectomy group at 5 years (14.6% vs. 18.4%;OR 0.75; 95% CI, 0.57-0.99)Take Home Message: There may be limited clinical benefit to using atherectomy for first-time revascularization in patients with critical limb ischemia and isolated tibial disease.
