Develops a multifunctional platform for detecting multiple biochemical targets, indicating its potential for advanced sensing applications.
Realizing sensing of multiple stimuli and analytes is highly desirable for the wide application of biochemical sensors. However, it is still considerable challenge to integrate multifunctional sensing abilities into one platform. Herein, a multifunctional sensing platform is developed with not only photo‐detection ability, but also electrochemical monitoring capacity for a series of biochemical targets. Specifically, the sensing platform is constructed based on a laser induced silver/graphene (Ag/LIG) composite and can successfully detect four targets. First, the loading of Ag nanoparticles endows it with excellent SERS activity and high sensitivity (LOD = 7 × 10 −12 M) for Rhodamine 6G. Considering the prohibition of Rhodamine in Regulation No 1223/2009, this sensitivity can completely satisfy the requirement in many Rhodamine related fields. Second, the graphene supporting bestows it with electrochemical detection ability for dopamine (DA) in artificial urine. The resulted linear range of 0–40 μM is much wider than the normal concentration range of DA in human blood or urine. Third, heavy metal ions Pb 2+ and Cd 2+ can be detected for LIG in lake water and tap water as well as Ag/LIG electrode in underground water. The LOD for LIG is lower than the standard values required by the World Health Organization guidelines for drinking‐water. Thus, this platform has certain application potential and is expected to offer new insights for building multifunctional biochemical sensors.
