Does admission to tertiary grade A, large-volume, or high- or medium-timeliness hospitals reduce 30-day mortality in patients hospitalized for acute myocardial infarction?
Admission to higher-tier, larger-volume, and more timely hospitals is associated with lower 30-day mortality for acute myocardial infarction.
Patients admitted to tertiary grade A hospitals, large-volume hospitals, and high- or medium-timeliness hospitals were more likely to survive at 30 days. Policymakers should focus on improving the outcomes at hospitals without these characteristics.
