Well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays were used as templates to produce Fe(OH)₃nanotube arrays. The as-grown Fe(OH)₃nanotube arrays were then used as templates to obtain an FeS₂nanorod array. The FeS₂nanorod arrays had much better photovoltaic properties than the FeS₂nanoparticles due to the high specific area, direct transport pathways and enhanced light harvesting of the nanorod array structure.
