Why the study?
Does transverse wall motion better reflect right ventricular ejection fraction compared to longitudinal wall motion in patients with pulmonary hypertension?
Does transverse wall motion better reflect right ventricular ejection fraction compared to longitudinal wall motion in patients with pulmonary hypertension?
Transverse wall motion at the mid right ventricle is a better predictor of RV ejection fraction than longitudinal motion in patients with pulmonary hypertension.
May support transverse RV metrics in PH assessment; leaves open prospective validation before clinical or research adoption.
Regional transverse wall movements provide important information of RV function in PH. Compared to longitudinal motion, transverse motion at mid RV reveals a significantly stronger relationship with RVEF and thereby might be a better predictor for RV function.
