The study demonstrates effective allylic alkylation in organic compounds, suggesting a new pathway for synthesis.
A nickel/photoredox dual-catalyzed allylic alkylation of alkyl bromides with allyl boronic esters is described. The method employs MeOLi to activate allyl boronic esters, forming allyl radicals upon visible-light excitation that then participate in nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling with alkyl radicals generated from alkyl bromides to achieve allylic alkylation. The reaction delivers linear allylic products with high regio- and E/Z selectivity with a wide substrate scope.
