This framework improves traceability and authenticity in Ayurvedic herbs, suggesting enhanced consumer trust.
The global rise in Ayurvedic product demand has exposed critical gaps in herbal traceability, authenticity, and sustainability. This paper introduces AyurTrace, a blockchain-based traceability framework built on Hyperledger Fabric to ensure secure, transparent, and tamper-proof tracking of Ayurvedic herbs from source to consumer. The system integrates GPS-based geo-tagging, IoT-enabled data collection, smart contracts enforcing NMPB guidelines, and QR-code-based consumer access. AyurTrace enables real-time validation of harvesting practices, ensures regulatory compliance, and enhances consumer trust by providing complete provenance data. Additionally, it supports low-connectivity regions through SMS-based data submission. By combining cybersecurity, blockchain, and traditional medicine supply chains, AyurTrace presents a scalable and inclusive solution for strengthening the Ayurvedic ecosystem.
