Accessibility in a physical sciences data infrastructure: Challenges and metadata-driven opportunities (PSDI)

This presentation was given at the Accessibility of Chemical Information session at the ACS Spring Meeting 2026. The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI) is a UK initiative aimed at encouraging researchers to share and reuse data by transforming how data is managed, accessed, and reused across the physical sciences. PSDI provides a range of resources, including data sources, services, tools, guidance, and training materials for researchers and those who support them. Constructing these resources, connecting them, and making them easy to use for all is a challenge, but building new tools and access to well structured data also provides opportunities. In this talk we will provide a brief overview of the PSDI project, some areas where we focused specifically on accessibility, and what ideas we have for ways we can enhance the accessibility of chemical information for our users over time.
