Demonstrates a new model explaining conscious states through hydrogen and electromagnetic dynamics, suggesting a shift in understanding.
The hard problem of consciousness has resisted solution for thirty years because the dominant framework contains a foundational error: it assumes that structure produces conscious states. This paper inverts that premise. Generative Dynamics (C₀ + γ → S) identifies the direction of causality: the center (C₀) generates electromagnetic dynamics (γ); γ builds structure through hydrogen configurations (H). Not the reverse. γ is not a product of conscious states — γ is the physical condition that precedes all structures showing conscious functions. Five independent empirical lines confirm this: (1) propofol — removal of a single hydrogen bond at the GABA-A receptor eliminates conscious state, with demonstrated causation; (2) neurotransmitter crystallography — every receptor-mediated conscious signal involves hydrogen bonds at the binding site; (3) oxidative stress — loss of hydrogen configurations correlates with progressive loss of cognitive function; (4) brain electromagnetic field (CEMI) — γ flux stabilized by hydrogen-dependent ion channels; (5) the heart — the primary generative domain of the human organism, generating an electromagnetic field 5,000 times stronger than the brain's, measurable 91 cm outside the body, forming before the brain exists in the embryo. The same physical pattern — state retention through electromagnetic dynamics and hydrogen configurations — is present without exception from atomic to cosmological scale: the proton retains its configuration for more than 10³⁴ years; baryon acoustic oscillations from primordial hydrogen are preserved for 13.8 billion years with precision 0.52%. This paper therefore asks: on the basis of which empirical criteria is the same physical pattern a necessary condition for conscious states in a neuron, but not relevant to the same question at other physical scales where the same pattern is empirically confirmed? Falsification criterion: the model falls if a conscious system is identified without electromagnetic processes or without hydrogen.
