Analyzes electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves during geomagnetic storms, suggesting key insights into solar wind interactions.
There is a zip folder for each initial phase considered in the study. Each storm folder includes: Initial_EMIC / Pre-Storm_EMIC: EMIC detections across time Initial_norm / Pre-Storm_norm: spectrogram data Initial_orbits in L-MLT with EMIC_with regions: orbital locations of EMIC detections in L-shell/MLT coordinates and associated regions of activity Pre-Storm_orbits in L-MLT with EMIC: orbital locations of EMIC detections in L-shell/MLT coordinates Initial_orbits with EMIC / Pre-Storm_orbits with EMIC: orbital locations of EMIC detections in GSM coordinates OMNI data: solar wind parameters throughout the storm, with phase start/end times Initial phase plots include data for the duration of the initial phase while pre-storm plots include data for the 6 hours prior to the storm. The code used to identify the EMIC waves can be found at the attached GitHub repository.
