Erratum corrects the identification of fish species in the Arctic, highlighting the importance of accurate species identification.
The original version of the Research Article, “Unexpected fish and squid in the central Arctic deep scattering layer” by P. Snoeijs-Leijonmalm et al. misidentified one of the fish caught during the study as ice cod. Sample FR10029 was previously visually identified as ice cod (Arctogadus glacialis). Through DNA analysis, it has been confirmed as walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus).
