Abstract

Based on the data of Chinese listed companies from 2011 to 2022, this paper studies the impact of digital transformation on enterprise resilience. From the core perspective of information transmission efficiency, research has found that digital transformation can enhance the quality of internal information disclosure within enterprises. This is achieved through more effective monitoring by investors, external auditors, and analysts, thereby strengthening the enterprise’s ability to withstand and recover from external shocks and improving overall organizational resilience. Meanwhile, the impact of digital transformation is heterogeneous and has spillover effects. It is more significant in enterprises audited by non-Big Four accounting firms, non-state-owned enterprises, enterprises where the chairman has no financial background, and enterprises in the central and western regions. It is worth noting that enterprise digital transformation not only enhances its own resilience but also has a positive impact on the resilience of other enterprises in the same industry. This study provides empirical evidence for digital transformation to enhance enterprise resilience and offers a reference for policymakers to promote digital reform and improve the efficiency of the capital market.
