Equations are developed for the pressure drop over sharp-edged orifices during the flow of incompressible two-phase mixtures. The velocity ratio is assumed constant during flow through the orifice, and on this basis analysis of the data leads to the following equations for the velocity ratio: for X ≥ 1, K = ( p L /p HOM ) 1/2 for X ≤ 1, K = ( p L / p G ) 1/4 .
