Key Practitioner Messages Disabled children are at increased risk of harm and abuse, yet disability among children is under‐recorded in Scotland's children's social work statistics. This data improvement project has developed and tested a set of disability indicators and definitions that support practitioners to identify and record disability Using the indicators, 37% of children subject to a joint investigative interview were recorded as disabled. Social interaction, mental health, learning difficulty and speech, language and communication were the conditions recorded most.
