Key Points

  • The central aim is to develop a smart gas alarm system that enhances safety by detecting LPG gas leaks.
  • Designed a system using ESP32 and MQ-6 gas sensor.
  • Incorporated a temperature sensor for better detection accuracy.
  • Continuously monitors gas levels and activates alerts.
  • Utilized internet connectivity for remote notifications.
  • Successfully detected increases in gas levels.
  • Triggered alarms and activated an exhaust fan upon detection.
  • Enabled remote alerts to users via the internet.
  • Proven to be cost-effective and beneficial for safety.

Abstract

Gas leakage is a major issue in houses and industries. LPG gas is widely used for cooking and other tasks. Gas leakage may result in fire and explosion. It may also affect human health. In this project, we designed a smart gas alarm system using ESP32 and MQ-6 gas sensor. We also used a temperature sensor to increase the accuracy of the system. The system continuously monitors the gas level. When the gas level increases, it alerts the user with an alarm and turns on an exhaust fan. It also sends an alert to the user via the internet. The system is cost-effective and helpful for safety.
