This document provides the canonical definition of the System Attribution Boundary (SAB), a foundational attribution construct within the EntityWorks Standard. The SAB defines the boundary that determines which elements of a user-facing AI interaction are attributable to the AI system’s own expressive contribution, as distinct from content whose substance originates externally and is merely selected, ranked, or presented by the system at the point of user encounter. This Definition of Record operates at the definitional layer of the EntityWorks Standard. It establishes a stable attribution boundary independent of meaning, interpretation, intent, or implementation. The SAB is logically prior to semantic and interpretive constructs and enables downstream reasoning concerning meaning, responsibility, reliance, and regulatory classification. Canonical definition maintained by EntityWorks Ltd.
