NAMI and LG enhance mental health resources for student athletes, boosting support and awareness in host schools.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is partnering with LG Electronics USA to expand mental health resources at the host schools for the 2026 NCAA Men's and Women's Final Four tournaments, a news release stated. Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis and Arizona State University will each receive $10,000 to strengthen their NAMI On Campus chapters and broaden access to mental health supports for student athletes. The funding is intended to enhance campus programming, increase awareness of available mental health services and expand peer support options. “With LG's continued partnership and lasting commitment to student mental wellness, we're working to expand our NAMI On Campus clubs and mental health resources in tournament host cities to help students connect with and support one another,” Dan Gillison, Jr., NAMI CEO, said in the news release. “The Final Four is an annual opportunity to shed light on the value of mental health resources for student athletes.” LG, an official NCAA corporate partner, has supported student athlete mental health and wellness initiatives since 2022, contributing more than $2.5 million to related efforts nationwide.
