Abstract: The value of an open access journal’s papers cannot be realized if they are not discoverable by researchers. Recently,Quest Macau (ISSN 3081-1414, eISSN 3081-1422, CODEN: AQABAF, DOI prefix: https://doi.org/10.66106/aqabaf), published by Quest Press Limited, was officially indexed by Google Scholar. The journal adopts the Gold Open Access model, complies with the CC BY 4.0 license, and ensures all articles undergo rigorous international peer review and are permanently free upon publication. As the world’s most widely used free academic search engine, Google Scholar provides an efficient discovery path for the journal’s open access papers, allowing “open access” and “open search” to complement each other. Based on the journal’s actual positioning and database indexing progress, this article analyzes the practical value of this indexing for the journal’s dissemination.
