Longitudinal study explores biological age's impact on complications in diabetic patients, suggesting health management strategies.
Our study suggests that maintaining a lower BA is associated with a reduced risk of complications and a delayed onset of the disease, which may encourage diabetic patients to manage their health more effectively. This study is the first to apply the concept of BA, reflecting health and ageing status, to patients with diabetes to explore its relationship with the risk and timing of complications.
