The Unified Recursive Architecture: A Working Preprint The Unified Recursive Architecture (URA) proposes that a single domain-general recursive operator, Ω, governs structure formation across all physical scales — from the pre-geometric Symmetry State through cosmological structure formation, chemistry, biology, evolution, and the emergence of phenomenal consciousness in biological systems.The paper is organized in three layers. Layer 1 presents the abstract architecture: four axioms (U1–U4), the κ functional, the φ functor with Program P_φ, and Program P_Ω — the first referee-tested skeleton of the cosmological field equation. Program P_φ establishes fixed-point commutativity and reduces the full unification claim to the intertwining condition. Two further open problems are now explicitly named: P_φ2 (Dynamical Functoriality — does φ preserve the full operator structure across Regime B, not just at fixed points?) and P_φ3 (Naturality — is φ a natural transformation between the functors defined by Ω_C and Ω_P?). These define the complete mathematical content of URA's cross-domain claim.Program P_Ω (Section 1.5) presents the minimal decomposition Ω_P = Ω_QFT + Ω_GR + Ω_URA, where Ω_URA is a gradient-like flow on the global recursion functional ℛ[Σ]. The first explicit term of ℛ[Σ] is the Weyl-squared action, connecting URA directly to Penrose's Weyl Curvature Hypothesis and to conformal gravity (Bach 1921; Mannheim-Kazanas 1989). The URA-modified Einstein equation is derived, its FRW reduction analyzed, and toy models for the scalar sector are provided with explicit entropy normalization and coarse-graining definitions. Six open problems (P_Ω0–P_Ω5) are stated for physicist collaboration.Layer 2 presents two domain-specific instantiations. URA-Consciousness identifies consciousness with the fixed points of the neural recursion operator Ω_C — not produced by them but identical to them. A clarification is now explicit: Ω_C dynamics generate trajectories toward the attractor; the attractor itself is the conscious state. The axioms U1–U4 are substrate-agnostic; the electromagnetic substrate is an empirical postulate additionally constrained by U3 and special relativity. URA-Cosmo grounds cosmological structure formation in RG flow as Ω_P, with the three-regime architecture (Regime A/B/C), cycle-with-memory, and Ψ_N as the EDE origin story.The paper develops a scale hierarchy mapping Ω's instantiation from gauge field theory through chemistry, biology, evolution, and consciousness, with explicit correspondences to the Higgs mechanism, Penrose-Hawking singularity theorems, Hawking radiation, asymptotic safety gravity, and superconductivity. Independent convergence is noted from Bertacca et al. (2025) and Afshordi et al. (2026).The primary distinguishing prediction: Ψ_N-sourced Early Dark Energy is spatially inhomogeneous, producing a cross-correlation between JWST early massive galaxy positions (z ≳ 10) and Euclid large-scale mass anisotropies that homogeneous EDE does not predict.
