This reformulation of Special Relativity reveals quantized proper time in discrete information settings, suggesting new insights into spacetime dynamics.
We propose a minimal reformulation of Special Relativity (SR) compatible with discrete proper time and finite local information capacity. Instead of assuming continuous spacetime coordinates as fundamental, we postulate that physical dynamics are constrained by a finite information-processing rate per causal volume. Under these assumptions, Lorentz invariance emerges as an effective symmetry at macroscopic scales while proper time becomes quantized. We show that this framework preserves the causal structure of Minkowski spacetime and provides a natural bridge between relativistic kinematics, quantum delocalization, and gravitational emergence.
