Descriptive study identifies key requirements for knowledge economy development in university faculty, suggesting strategic focus areas.
The current study aimed to identify the requirements for developing the knowledge economy at Majmaah University from the perspective of faculty members, focusing on six key areas: (strategic leadership requirements, teaching and learning requirements, research and innovation requirements, partnership and community outreach requirements, infrastructure and technology requirements, and human capacity development requirements). To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted a descriptive approach using a survey method and used a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The study concluded with results that revealed a hierarchical order of requirements for the development of the knowledge economy according to the opinions of the sample individuals, with education and learning requirements coming in first place, followed by “human capacity development” in second place. Strategic leadership ranked third, infrastructure and technology ranked fourth, partnerships and community outreach ranked fifth, and scientific research and innovation ranked sixth and last.
