Abstract

Sports hold a significant place in our lives. The involvement in sports helps nurture one’s overall personality. It has a positive impact on the development of physical and mental health, well-being, motivation, team spirit, and interpersonal relationships. Sports also promote cultural cohesion and serve as a platform for citizens to showcase their skills and represent their country’s honor and pride. The current review aims to address the gap in the literature on the role of kinesthetic intelligence, perception, and differentiation in the field of basketball sports among female athletes. In the current research, a literature review was conducted using Google Scholar and PubMed databases to search for research works published over the last 10 years (2016–2025), which were then examined. The results indicated there is some evidence of a relationship between bodily kinesthetic intelligence, kinesthetic perception and kinesthetic differentiation on one hand and basketball abilities among women on the other hand, and kinesthetic abilities may positively impact basketball skills. Skill-specific exercises based on kinesthetics may enhance basketball performance; however, further research, including longitudinal studies and actual game performance after training, can shed more light on the effectiveness of these measures.
