Analysis examines PML settings' effects on sensor interference, suggesting performance criteria improvements.
The effects of PML boundary settings on the mutual interference analysis among the platform-mounted sensors were examined using an FDTD-based approach. Using time gating, the surface current interference was separated from the PML-induced residual reflection, which dominated the received interference. From the time delay estimation and E-field distribution, it was shown that the residual reflection-affected the overall mutual interference results. These results motivate the adoption of a verification procedure that specifies the minimum PML performance criteria at the beginning of interference studies.
