Memorandum reports pressure loss tests in turbine nozzle cascades, suggesting improvements in design efficiency.
This memorandum presents the results of further pressure loss tests made on a cold-airs low-pressures rig simulating a segment of a tip turbine stator assembly and supply ducts characterized by flat-plate nozzle blades. A range of nozzles, involving varying side wall shapes passage section and blade geometry has been tested. The effect of air entry angle has also been briefly investigated.
