This note clarifies the notation of R introduced in La continuidad del aparecer: Ontología dinámica de la responsabilidad. The previous use of R+/R− has been shown to invite normative interpretations (good/bad) that are not intended by the framework. I propose replacing this notation with operational regimes of openness—expressed as R↑ / R↓ or, equivalently, expansion / restriction—in order to preserve the non-normative, structural character of the distinction. The change does not alter the ontology; it improves its legibility by making explicit that the distinction concerns differences in viability, reversibility, and articulability of configurations within a relational field. Responsibility is thereby understood as a structural non-indifference to how configurations affect the field’s capacity to sustain openness.
