Upon the electrolysis of molten antimony sulfide, metallic antimony is produced at the cathode. The bath consisted of 85 per cent Sb 2 S 3 and 15 per cent Na 2 S, at 650–700° C.; cathode current density, 0.3 amp./cm. 2 ; graphite anode and cathode. Current efficiency was low and volatilization losses were high for these small‐scale experiments.
