Demonstrates the synthesis of tunable mesoporous materials, indicating potential applications in various fields.
Hierarchically mesoporous metal-organic frameworks (HMMOFs) are synthesized using D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS), a low-molecular-weight copolymer, as the soft template for the first time. Mediated by Hofmeister salting-in ions, the co-assembly of TPGS micelles with metal-ligand precursors yields well-ordered 5 nm mesopores. Incorporation of 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (TMB) facilitates continuous pore expansion from 5 to 20 nm while preserving crystallinity and topology. This TPGS-template strategy successfully bridges the mesopore-size gap of conventional surfactants, providing a versatile route to tunable HMMOFs
