Investigates archaeological anomalies in former school site, indicating redevelopment potential.
The interior and exterior of the former school building were observed and notes taken on the layout, construction materials and architectural details. A photographic record was undertaken using a 24megapixel digital camera and a 35mm format Nikon SLR with 35mm perspective shift lens. Eight Trial Trenches were excavated across the site in order to investigate anomalies highlighted in the results of the Geophysical Survey but also to assess areas supposedly devoid of archaeology. All Trial Trenches measured 50m by 2m in length. Former school building, originally a race course grand stand, converted into flats. No archaeology found during trial trenching and grounds redeveloped for housing.
