Mulk Raj Anand has beautifully treated childhood as a theme in his short stories and novels. He has shown deep insight into the typical behavior and thinking of a child. His own childhood as described in his autobiography has been very significant in the sense that he was exposed to a lot of experiences in his childhood. As, his childhood was spent in the days when Indian struggle for freedom was in full swing. The happenings of his childhood years left an indelible impression on his mind and sharpened his sensibility. He is therefore, very successful in his treatment of childhood in his fiction. Through this paper, researcher tries to highlight the psychological aspects of child in the short stories and novels of Mulk Raj Anand.
