Systematic review identifies assessment tools for PTSD and C-PTSD in children and adolescents, highlighting diagnostic gaps.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (C-PTSD) can occur in children and adolescents following exposure to traumatic events. Accurate assessment is essential for diagnosis and intervention. Despite multiple instruments available for adults, the evaluation of PTSD and especially C-PTSD in youth populations remains limited. This systematic review aims to identify, analyze, and synthesize the psychometric properties and diagnostic utility of tests, questionnaires, scales, and structured interviews used to assess PTSD and C-PTSD in children and adolescents.
