This study aims to explore the various factors that influence the listing prices of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) in the Indian capital market, with particular focus on investors located in Ahmedabad. The research is undertaken to gain a clearer understanding of regional market characteristics and the differing viewpoints of investors. The objectives of the study are twofold. Firstly, it seeks to analyse the determinants that affect IPO listing prices in the Indian capital market. A close-ended Likert scale questionnaire is used to collect investors’ opinions regarding the major elements that influence IPO valuation. Secondly, the study attempts to examine the relationship between investors’ demographic characteristics—such as gender, age, occupation, education, and monthly income—and their attitudes toward IPO investments. Investigating this association helps in understanding how personal attributes shape investor perceptions and decision-making related to IPOs. The research is based on a sample of 130 investors from Ahmedabad, an important financial center in India. Data are collected through structured responses to obtain varied opinions from the selected participants. This approach enables the study to provide a detailed understanding of the factors affecting IPO listing prices within a specific regional setting.
