Key Points

  • The aim is to explore the role of diffusion-regulated catalytic architectures in sulfur redox chemistry for lithium-sulfur batteries.
  • In situ Raman spectroscopy was employed to observe sulfur nucleation and dissolution.
  • Electrochemical analyses were conducted to assess cycling stability under high-rate operations.
  • The system exhibited exceptional cycling stability despite low cobalt loading.
  • Enhanced diffusion-regulated architectures significantly improved sulfur redox regulation.

Abstract

S nucleation and dissolution, as directly revealed by in situ Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses. As a consequence, the system delivers exceptional cycling stability under high-rate operation despite a low Co loading, highlighting the importance of diffusion-regulated catalytic architectures for efficient sulfur redox regulation in lithium-sulfur batteries.
