Evaluates high voltage gains in non-isolated DC-DC converters, indicating improved performance.
This paper proposes a family of non‐isolated high‐voltage‐gain quadratic DC‐DC converters derived from an impedance source converter. The proposed structure enables the modular use of various voltage lift cells, including the basic switched inductor cell (SL), the quasi‐switched cell (QSC), the improved switched inductor cell (ISL), the elementary lift cell, and the quadratic cell. These converters combine voltage lifting cells and coupled inductors with auxiliary components to achieve high voltage gains and significant benefits. Moreover, there are no duty‐cycle limitations, allowing high voltage gains even at low duty cycles. Additionally, the proposed converters provide several advantages, such as low voltage stress on components, a common ground, continuous input current and high efficiency. The operating modes of the proposed converters are examined. Design considerations for the SL‐ZSC are discussed, along with power loss analyses for the SL‐ZSC and QSC‐ZSC. A comparison between the proposed converters and existing impedance source converters is presented. Finally, a 200 W prototype with a 40 V input and a 300 V output is developed for the proposed SL‐ZSC to verify its validity and effectiveness.
