Staploe Archaeology Group was commissioned by Histon & Impington Archaeology Group to survey with Resistivity and Ground Penetrating Radar, the probable site of the post Medieval Abbey Farm House in order to inform on possible areas for future excavation. Resistivity data combined with LiDAR height data was used to create a profile of the features detected and suggest the curving feature is a ditch and the linear feature a trackway. Ground Penetrating Radar located the walls of the house at 0.476m below today's ground surface. There are hints that walls continued northward beyond the grid and under the present access road while a further feature may indicate the presence of a cellar or undercroft.
Cantrell et al. (Mon,) studied this question.
