In 1992 excavations were undertaken in Shishin, a site located at the eastern Euphrates bank south of the Haditha dam in Iraq. On the eastern flank of a c. 290 m long and in average 60 m wide plateau remains of an Old-Babylonian fortification were unearthed. Architectural structures and objects recovered from these excavations are described here.
