Gold catalysis has emerged as a revolutionary field in organic synthetic chemistry. The combination of gold catalysis with photochemical activation has further expanded this area, introducing synthetically valuable modes of reactivity. In fact, gold photocatalysis eliminates the need for stoichiometric sacrificial external oxidants and unlocks opportunitiesfor broader range of radical‐mediated transformations. In recent years, significant progress has been achieved in the development of gold‐catalyzed cyclization reactions facilitated by visible‐light irradiation. The present review highlights last 5 year advancements in gold‐enabled photocyclizations to build up diverse carbo‐ and heterocyclic scaffolds. This review offers comprehensive insights into mechanistic aspects and their significance in contemporary synthetic chemistry.
