The programme of AMR comprised the observation by a competent archaeologist of groundworks associated with the partial excavation of a deep drainage trench located in the south-western part of the site (Trenches 1 and 2). Parts of the drainage had been installed prior to archaeological attendance, therefore, following discussions between CA, Bromford Housing Group and Andrew Armstrong, an additional trench was excavated adjacent to the route of the originally excavated drainage trench to assess the potential for archaeological survival in this area. Development groundworks undertaken outside of these areas were not subject to AMR. In September and November, Cotswold Archaeology carried out a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording during groundworks associated with residential development at the former Holly Hose, West Lodge Drive, Gloucester. Undated alluvial deposits, most probably associated with the River Twyver, were recorded at depths of between 2.55m and 1.7m below present ground level in the south-western part of the site. Buried soils and modern dumped deposits/made-ground were also identified. No features of archaeological interest were observed and no artefactual material was recovered.
