This conference poster presents a narrative review of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) models in community psychiatry, with a focus on global deployment strategies and local feasibility in Malaysia. The review highlights the effectiveness of ACT in reducing inpatient admissions, improving social reintegration, and enhancing treatment adherence among patients with severe mental illness (SMI). Local observations from Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB), Kedah, Malaysia, are included to contextualize implementation challenges and opportunities. Findings suggest that ACT, through a multidisciplinary and proactive outreach approach, significantly disrupts the “revolving door” phenomenon in psychiatric care. Integration with vocational and community-based programs further strengthens long-term recovery outcomes. This poster was presented at the Johor Mental Health Convention (JMHC) 2026 and is shared as a conference poster for academic dissemination and knowledge sharing.
