Case report reveals adnexal mass with gangrenous ovary in acute abdomen, indicating possible ACUM diagnosis.
A BSTRACT Accessory cavitated uterine malformation (ACUM) is a para-uterine lesion near the round ligament. An 11-year-old who presented with an acute abdomen underwent laparotomy revealed an adnexal mass with a gangrenous ovary; en bloc resection was done. Histopathology showed an endometrium-lined cavity with a myometrial mantle. Any lateralized cyclical pain and a para-uterine mass should be suspected for ACUM.
